2021 Catching Up

The unfortunate thing about Covid is that each day turns into the next, or month into the following, with little distinction, but artists continue to work daily.

Happy that my artwork was included in Fine Art Connoisseur and also for the beautiful coffee table book for The Artists for Conservation.

In December I was honoured to have two paintings were selected for the Arts on the Credit Virtual Gallery exhibition.

As well, I was pleased that my painting Ribbit, was juried in to the prestigious Society of Canadian Artists 2021 52nd Open International exhibition, which is online March 15th to June 15th, 2021. The congratulations notification stated "We are delighted after careful deliberation around 150 of the 666 entries were chosen, including your own. " The Exhibition will be hosted at, https://societyofcanadianartists.com/

Ontario Society of Artists.....Last November I was Proud that my painting Tobermory was juried in for this prestigious exhibition . Only 82 artworks from a field of 372 were selected. Enjoy the exhibition online, with no covid 19 worries https://ontariosocietyofartists.org/oje_2020/

.ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT: VAM43 JURIED SHOW OF FINE ARTS

MISSISSAUGA, ON –Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) at Riverwood is pleased to announce the 43 exhibiting artists for its 43rd Annual Juried Show of Fine Arts. Over 150 artists applied to the exhibition province-wide. This prestigious art exhibition will kick-off Mississauga’s 2021 season of cultural events. The Awards will be generously sponsored by DeSerres.

VAM43 will showcase an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary visual art works. VAM's expert Jurors have select 43 artworks to be on exhibition on the VAM43 website from January 14 – December 31, 2021. If possible, the selected award winners’ art works will be on display at the Small Arms Inspection Building from Thursday, January 14 – February 11, 2021.

“VAM43 is an opportunity for VAM to stay connected with the community of artists across the province" explains VAM's Cultural Development Manager Eldiana Begovic. "Moving VAM’s Juried Show online allows us to support the community of artists we value so much by showing and celebrating their work. We are grateful to all 150 applicants and this year’s Jurors for putting together another amazing exhibition from both emerging and established artists”

In February I joined the Federation of Canadian Artists and expect to be exhibiting with them, as well as the Artists for Conservation.

Despite never ending Covid lockdowns, I continued to work away in my studio at home for the most part.

Under Cover is a 36 by 48 inch oil on canvas painting.

Eventually the world will slowly return to a semblance of normality, and I hope to be able to greet you again in my studio at the Alton Mill Arts Centre. 1402 Queen Street West, in Alton.
